ASUS RT-N66U Dual Band Gigabit Wifi Router Review 2017

From the first glance the N-66U looks brilliant. Its slick design is covered in a matte black color that impresses even the most demanding eye. It has a diamond design and a wedge shape that makes it appear a lot smaller than it already is. Most of the ASUS RT-N66U customer have been blown away by its aspect.

So let`s talk about its features. With the new ASUSWRT UI, the network setup is done in a flash. One huge upgrade is the increase wireless speed, up to 900 Mbps. It has dual-band connectivity, one with 2.4 GHz and the other one with 5 GHz. This means that with the bigger band you can stream a 3D HD content or high demanding applications free of lag and with the smaller one you can perform your normal internet tasks.

It has four LAN ports and two USB ports that are a very important feature. With these 2 normal USB ports you have a great variety of new options. They allow having a network printer connected, file servers also, HDD sharing, 3G Internet and many other possibilities.

You can put also 3 additional antennas. They are kind of big compared to the body (17 cm unfolded) and dwarf it when they are in place. Even though this can be used as a simple router too, it far surpasses those limits and adds a little bit of diversity to what a modern router can perform. Based on its great looks and very good performances the ASUS RT-N66U wireless router have been positive and have recommended it for whoever wants to purchase a router.

From a performance point of view many say it is the best router out there, but I think it is one of the very best. Being regarded as such a top item its price is high, as you can imagine. You can find it online on different sites, from 150$ to 180$. The device overall is a great router, looking and performing superbly and recommends its purchase if you think this price is affordable to you. If you are looking for just a simple router there are cheaper ones out there, but if you are looking for something extra and of the latest generation than you should definitely buy the RT-N66U.
